this is the first time I have ever left new york and missed it and damn am I missing it so so so much

since I’ve moved, I haven’t left the city for more than a week. I’ve spent a few weekends in Boston, a weekend in Indiana in 2012, and then most recently I was there for about 8 days, but this is the first time I’ve left for a considerable period of time. and gosh! I am missing everything about it. the jetlag period of being in India is the worst, cause I’m always hungry and tired and achey and I am not accustomed to the weather or the fact that there isn’t always just food hanging around that I can eat. also I miss my friends. and what’s weird is that I’m here by myself, and I’m always here with my parents and brother so I have people to goof around with and go places. my grandparents are too frail to go anywhere (bless their old bones), and I can only walk to places since there’s no car (and like hell I’d drive in India??? what a shitshow) and public transport is a hawt mess. not trying to complain because I’m happy to be here with my old folks because they’re so great, but I’m lonely and hunGRy mostly hungry and that is making things hard. and why tf does it have to be so hot here, GOSH. I wasn’t made to melt.

this is me right now at this VERY MOMENT.

I got to India at 430am this morning. my body is very confused and tired and I have no sense of time. I will continue to be like this for a couple days. here are a few significant things:

during my layover in London, I saw Ninja & Yolandi Vi$$er at security check and I internally flipped my shit. as they were further ahead of me in line, I couldn’t really say anything to them, and by the time I was out of the line, they were gone entirely. I looked up if they were touring and found that they were playing a festival in Netherlands this weekend, so I sat at the gate for the flight to Amsterdam in hopes I would catch them there but I didn’t. le sigh.
I am currently at my aunt’s house. She is married to a very prominent doctor in the area, and as a result they have a very big house and a yard (if you can call it that). They recently built a bathroom unit thing outside and I took a shower in it this morning. It is kind of funny taking a shower outside but it was a nice time and I kind of wish it was something I could do more often. I also wish I could explain this better but they only way for anyone to really get it would be to see it because it’s too complicated and contextual for me to explain to anyone who hasn’t visited a south east asian country.
bands I’ve been watching documentaries on and listening to a lot lately: The Doors, The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones.
I took a GREAT photo out the car window of these 4 boys during my drive from the airport to my aunt’s.
gosh, I don’t know. I miss New York a lot but I am happy to be here. I am feeling unnecessarily anxious, but I think it’s just that I need a couple days to adjust and I’ll be a real person again.
I don’t want to be on the computer very much during this trip but I feel like I’m gonna blog the fuck out of it, so git ready
